[ About Us ]

We build the systems other companies rent.

Platformia is the custom engineering practice of Island of One, Inc. We design and ship enterprise platforms and AI systems that clients own outright — code, data, infrastructure and IP.

“Success is a process, not a point of arrival.”

Jason McClain has spent thirty years building revenue-generating software — roughly 50,000 hours across more than a dozen companies he founded, scaled, and in most cases sold.

He started in advertising technology. At PrimeQ Interactive Advertising (1998–2008) he developed three interlocking technologies including a co-registration engine that monetized email traffic at scale, serving clients including Home Depot, Dish Network, Columbia House, Dell Computers and Comfort Systems USA. In parallel he built FindMyLeads, a lead-generation and shopping-cart engine that ran for fourteen years.

In 2002 he launched MyDivorcePapers.com, an automated legal document preparation platform that turned an expensive, attorney-gated process into guided software. It served over one million users across a twenty-year run before its sale in 2022.

Through McClain Concepts (2010–2017) he ran a digital marketing agency managing $5 million+ in annual ad spend with a team of fifty, and Click Promise (2009–2016) for performance email and affiliate infrastructure. In 2015 alone his online operations generated over $10 million in revenue.

Most recently he architected VintnerPro, a unified operational platform that replaced an entire multi-vendor software stack for two production wine brands — running live inventory, compliance, direct-to-consumer commerce, club management, contract execution, recurring payments and accounting integration in a single owned codebase — and FAMOO, a native iOS and Android consumer platform.

That body of work is the thesis behind Platformia: a business should own the system it runs on. Renting nine tools means nine roadmaps you cannot influence, nine bills that escalate, and your operational data scattered across nine companies. Platformia exists to replace that with one platform, engineered to spec, owned outright.

[ Author ]

Four books on failure, resilience and money.

Thirty years of building companies produces as many failures as exits. McClain writes about both.

Pivot to Profit

Turning Failures into Fuel

A tactical playbook on turning a crushing setback into a profitable venture, built around the R.I.S.E. system.

Island of One

Born Different. Built to Thrive.

Born without fingers on his left hand, McClain turns a life of adapting into the seven-key C.O.M.P.A.S.S. framework for anyone who has felt fundamentally different.

Life Can Change

Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

On taking the pain of a circumstance and handing the power back to the person.

Mind Over Money

Discover How to Get the Riches You Deserve

On the mindset underneath financial decisions.

[ Beyond the Build ]

The part that isn’t software.

McClain was born without fingers on his left hand. Adapting to a world not designed for him is where the problem-solving instinct started, and it is the subject of Island of One.

He is a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council and has served on the board of the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation. His philanthropic work runs through two non-profits, EntraKids and the McClain Foundation. His character earned him an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Pentecostal Bible College.

As a mentor and speaker he has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs, and he has trained millions of viewers through speaking engagements — sharing what he calls scar-tissue wisdom, so other people can avoid the landmines he already stepped on.

He lives with his wife Sofia, a registered nurse, and their three daughters. He attributes much of his success to them.

[ The Practice ]

Engineers, AI specialists, and systems people.

Platformia assembles a team around the shape of the problem — platform engineers, applied-AI specialists, and people who have built production systems in marketing, sales and healthcare.

Platform Engineering

Full-stack engineers who build the operational core — data models, APIs, transactional integrity, and the admin surfaces your team runs the business from.

Applied AI

Specialists in retrieval, extraction, classification and agentic workflows engineered against client data, with evaluation harnesses so model behaviour is measured rather than assumed.

Marketing Systems

Lead capture, attribution, multi-channel campaign integration and lifecycle automation — the machinery that turns traffic into a tracked, worked pipeline.

Sales Systems

Pipeline architecture, proposal and contract automation, e-signature flows, and payment collection wired directly into accounting.

Healthcare Systems

Workflow and records systems built for regulated environments, with attention to access control, auditability and data handling requirements.

Infrastructure & Integrations

Deployment, observability, and the connective work — payment gateways, accounting, ad platforms, calendars and telephony — that makes a platform whole.

Let’s scope your system.
